Crash Barriers
BFH Sydcon is pleased to be aligned with specialist crash barrier company's such as Avon Barrier Company [UK] and AVS-elli [Australia].
Avon Barrier Company is a world leader in heavy duty vehicle barriers, providing a wide range of engineered and certified crash rated products that fit well with BFH Sydcon's projects. Avon products are featured HERE.
AVS-elli is and Australian engineering enterprise which has created a unique range of portable lightweight vehicle barriers - in addition to the more traditional fixed heavy-duty constructed barriers, which are currently in use world-wide.
AVS-elli vehicle barriers were developed in response to an identified world-wide market need for a versatile rapid deployment vehicle barrier system.
AVS-elli vehicle barriers are particularly suitable for securing perimeter access, guarding vehicle access doors, blocking off access routes or roads, installation on suspended slabs or drive-ways, protecting temporary events or installations, and volatile security environments where the threat assessment level varies rapidly, and barriers may need to be quickly deployed, and then re-deployed to an alternate risk site.
Features include;
- Crash-proven to arrest a passenger vehicle travelling at 80km/hr in under 1 metre.
- The only barrier system suitable for permanent, temporary, and event-specific deployment.
- Quickly installed by unskilled labour.
- The fastest barrier activation available on the market (under 0.8 sec).
- Rapidly replaced post incident for a fast return to service for the affected site.
- SCEC Endorsed
Unactivated, the LW4 (above) and LW3 models (below) can perform the function of a speed hump or traffic training device to control vehicle speed and movement.
Both models apply a number of mechanical engineering principles – such as distortion, deformation and friction – to absorb the energy of impact, thus enabling the efficient and effective arrest of an unauthorised vehicle with a lightweight portable barrier unit.
Activated, the LW3 has been SCEC endorsed to arrest a passenger vehicle at 70km/hr in a distance under 1 metre. It can be installed in less than one day on any surface by a variety of ground anchor methodologies.
