Yet another rescue mission where Project Management expertise was required to pull all of the pieces together and make a quality job out of something that had little design or planning attached.
This was pre-BFH Sydcon in 2001, and is a project where Ian Ferguson was contracted as the Project Manager. The challenge was to work closely with the Client to ensure their security requirements were best met, whilst keeping an eye on the costs allowed to complete the works.
Materials were fabricated and shipped ex-Melbourne to Singapore, where an in-country contracting firm carried out the installation under a watchful eye.
Sophisticated on the surface, Singapore presents it's own unique challenges where every tradesman is multi-skilled, yet not necessarily qualified. This makes for an interesting dynamic when the focus is on time, cost and quality.
